What purpose do Génération [e] garbage bags serve?
They replace non biodegradable conventional garbage bags. They can be used in kitchen garbage containers, trash cans, or for garden and leaf disposal. They can be put to use under many conditions, they are adaptable and suitable to any environment.
-
What is the shelf life of the product?
Génération [e] garbage bags have an unlimited shelf life until they come in contact with micro-organisms.
-
What is left behind when Génération [e] bags degrade?
Aerobic biodegradation (with atmospheric oxygen, typical of litter or in composting)
- Biomass – rich compost like material with nutriments
- Methane
- CO2
Anaerobic biodegradation (without atmospheric oxygen, typical of landfills)
- Biomass – rich compost like material with nutriments
- Methane
- CO2
- Some water
-
What are the certifications?
Material treated with our additive has been tested and proved as biodegradable and safe for the environment by using the following:
-
ASTM 5511
“Standard Test Method for Determining Anaerobic Biodegradation of Plastic Materials Under High-Solids Anaerobic Digestion Conditions” -
ISO 14855 / ASTM D5338
“Standard Test Method for Determining Aerobic Biodegradation of Plastic Materials under Controlled Composting Conditions” -
ASTM D5209
“Standard Test Method for Determining the Aerobic Biodegradation of Plastic Materials in the Presence of Municipal Sewage Sludge”
-
ASTM 5511
-
How does the robustness of biodegradable garbage bags compare to regular bags?
Génération [e] garbage bags are as rugged and perform as well as regular bags because the additive used does not adversely affect the strength and durability of the plastic.
-
How long will Génération [e] bags take to biodegrade?
The bags will break down in approximately 1 year to 7 years in nearly all landfills or wherever else they may turn up. All sorts of factors determine the amount of microbes available in the soil, and the soil conditions determine the rate of degradation. It is estimated that conventional garbage bags can take 400 years or more to degrade.
-
Where will Génération [e] bags biodegrade?

- Buried in, or in contact with the soil
- Litter
-
Where will Génération [e] bags NOT degrade?
- Warehouses
- Store shelves
- Homes and Offices
